Southern Sixer Release Party – January 27

Join us for our first “For Love of Beer & Mountains” seasonal release of 2017, at Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, NC!

Family friendly, free event from 4 to 9 pm

Music provided by The Resonant Rogues from 7 to 9 pm

The name “Southern Sixers” refers to a group of Southern Appalachian Mountains over 6,000 feet in elevation. Southern Sixer IPA, like Highland’s other seasonal beers, is named for a protected feature of the Southern Appalachian landscape.

Conserving this area’s land and water retains its true value and beauty. To that end, every glass of Southern Sixer sold at the release party will result in $1.00 donated to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy.

Southern Sixer is packed with six American hop varieties, bringing assertive citrus and tropical fruit notes to this West Coast-inspired IPA. Golden in color and medium bodied, this brew finishes bitter and crisp with a lingering, dank hop presence.

Brewmaster Hollie Stephenson will be giving a brief “hop tour” of the six hops in this seasonal brew before each of Highland’s regularly scheduled tours. You’ll get to touch and smell the hops, then do a quick tasting of Southern Sixer with Hollie before heading off for an informative tour about Highland with one of their talented tour guides.
